Terms of service
Last updated 4 September 2026
These terms cover using Pulsofy. They are written to be read. Where something matters, it is in bold rather than buried.
1. Who these are between
Pulsofy is a product of L&J LLC, of Livonia, Michigan (“we”). “You” is the business whose shop is on the account. Whoever accepts these terms confirms they can do so for that business.
2. What the service does, and what it does not
Pulsofy watches vibration, temperature and current on your machines, learns what normal looks like, and tells you when something drifts. It measures how much your machines run.
It is an early-warning aid, not a safety system and not a guarantee. It will miss faults, and it will sometimes flag things that turn out to be nothing. Do not use it in place of guarding, lockout, statutory inspection, or the judgement of a qualified person. Never rely on it to decide that a machine is safe to operate or safe to work on.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us quickly if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what people you invite to your shop do in the app. You must be entitled to put sensors on the machines you monitor.
4. Hardware
Sensors we sell you become yours on payment, and carry a two-year warranty against defects in normal indoor industrial use. Sensors we lend you for a pilot stay ours; see the pilot agreement. The warranty does not cover crash damage, coolant immersion beyond the rating, heat past the stated limit, or a unit that has been opened.
Fitting is your responsibility. Mount sensors where they cannot be struck by tooling or a moving axis, cannot fall into a machine, and do not interfere with guarding. Current clamps must be fitted by someone competent to work on that equipment, with the power isolated.
5. Plans and payment
Subscriptions are monthly per shop, on the plan you pick, and renew until cancelled. Billing starts when your first sensor sends a reading, not when you order. Cancel at any time and you keep the service until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months. Prices can change with 30 days' notice by email. Hardware is billed separately.
6. Your data
Your machine and sensor data is yours. We use it to run the service for you, and we hold it as described in the privacy page. We may use aggregated, de-identified figures, meaning numbers that cannot be traced to your shop, to improve detection and to publish benchmarks. If you would rather we did not, email us and we will exclude your shop.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the service up, but we do not promise a particular uptime, and alerts depend on things outside our control such as your Wi-Fi, your power and your mobile carrier. Do not assume silence means everything is well; the app shows when a sensor was last heard from.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost production, lost profit, damaged equipment or scrapped parts, whether from a missed fault, a false alarm, or the service being unavailable. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Ending it
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that does not pay, or that is used to break the law or to damage the service. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of what you have paid.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and disputes belong to the courts of Wayne County, Michigan. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
11. Text messages
Pulsofy Machine Alerts is our text message programme. If you put a mobile number into Alert phones on your Settings page, that number receives a text when one of your machines starts behaving abnormally, and a follow-up after a repair confirming whether it came back to normal. Only add a number whose owner has agreed to receive them.
How often depends on your machines, which is the point of it. A healthy shop may go weeks without a message; a machine going bad might produce two or three in a day. There is no fixed schedule and we send nothing promotional on this programme.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or write to hello@pulsofy.com. You can also remove the number yourself from the same Settings page. Message and data rates may apply, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not sell or share these numbers, and we do not use them for marketing.
12. Questions
hello@pulsofy.com. We would much rather sort something out by email than by letter.
